The Plan

So, as you know, I have to write a bunch of blog posts by the end of the month. I’ve decided to write a particularly interesting post today. It might be confusing and messed up, but what evahh (FYI if you haven’t noticed: I spell ever –evahh). As you know, a while back, some paintings were stolen from the Louvre in Paris. Now, you would imagine that in probably the most famous museum in the world, there would be better protection over million/s dollar paintings. Venezuela, at one in time, believe it or not, was considered to be a ‘capitol of the world’ along with cities like London, Paris, New York, L.A., etc. Many contemporary artists’ painting were brought to the city. Currently, this museum (Museo de Arte Conteporaneo) lies in absolute shambles in El Centro, and it is jam packed with pretty much any artist you can think of.

Here is the punch line (please don’t immediately disagree with me): someone could steal a majority of those paintings, with relative ease, and re-sell them on the black market. It is a crime, but if you’ve ever been to that museum, you know it would be more of a crime to let those paintings sit there and rot. If the paintings were in the hands of a mafia leader, they would get a lot more pleasure out of it, than the entire city of Caracas does now. When you go to that museum, your heart bleeds, when you see hundreds of millions of dollars worth of patrimony from countries all around the world, just sitting and slowly deteriorating.

If this country doesn’t want those paintings, than I certainly do. That museum is a perfect comparison to the country itself at the moment. The museum is worth so much money, yet it is so poorly maintained and no one cares about. It is exactly the same as the country. Eventually, if both the museum and country continue in this state, every aspect will go to hell and the country will be worth nothing. Venezuela, once a world leading country will be less advanced than the Republic of Chad or Burkina Faso.
